The baby chicks arrived today. The hatchery ships them next day air the day they hatch, so when we receive them they are two days old. They are undeniably the cutest little things, and thankfully they all arrived safely. Now we will keep our fingers crossed that they make it through these first few weeks without any of them getting sick, as can happen sometimes.
This is how the chicks arrived, packed in a box with a heating packet and straw.

Nick spent all day in and out of the sun room "checking on the chicks"!
After school, I caught Sophie reading the chicks a story.
Sam also loves the chicks. I'm wondering how I'm going to convince him to go to bed tonight. ;)
